Have You Ever Been Turned Off To Christianity?
Whether you heard about Jesus from someone preaching on the Green or had a close friend share good news with you, perhaps you were turned off to their claims. We want you to help us help make things clear and set the record straightlet us know if you like the way we have broken down the good news for students below. Send an email to me soon! Frank Liu, JCL Missions Director.
What Are The Religious People Claiming And What Is JCL Claiming?
The main message of the Bible to individuals is found in the book of Romans sixth chapter where it reads, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
What Are The Wages Of Sin?
Sounds like an 80s rock band name, doesnt it? Since a wage is a payment made or owed for work or service, the wages of sin is death indicates that in Gods economy of things, those who sin must die to pay for their sin. Death is what is owed someone who commits sin. Sin includes theft, sexual misconduct, lying and even our inner thought life when it is impure.
Have you ever thought of how much the person next to you at UNF might sin? If they were to commit only one sin daily and live to the average life expectancy of 76 years, they would have 27,740 sins to atone for.
Gods desire is that as many as possible be saved from sin and get to heaven rather than be lost forever in a place that Bible calls Hell.
WARNING: Attending Jacksonville Christian Life or otherwise being a religious person cannot atone for anyones sin. The good deeds we do have their rewards from above but, God requires a blood sacrifice to pay for sin. The good news is that God wants to give a free gift, eternal life in heaven, to anyone wishing to receive it. That includes you, the reader, of course.
Although man cannot make it to God on his own, God made a way for man through His Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose from the dead to prove His Messiahship as Savior. According to hundreds of Bible prophecies predicting His atonement for sin, Jesus died so you and I could trust in His death and receive eternal life in heaven.
I Think I Have Trusted In Christ. What Now?
Thats where Jacksonville Christian Life is ready to help you make informed decisions. We run a membership table each week on campus where you can learn more about the good news of Jesus, learn more about trusting in Christ for salvation, and about the lifetime of opportunities that await Christians and begin at JCL as a UNF Christian.
